What you pay, what the seller pays, and what Buyee or ZenMarket adds when the listing is on Mercari.
Mercari Japan is a flea market. Listings move fast, titles are sloppy, and the photo is often the only honest part. The fee stack is simpler than the title.
Who pays Mercari
You are not Mercari’s customer when a proxy buys for you. The proxy checks out. Mercari’s commission is charged on the seller’s payout, so it is not a line on your invoice. Do not add a fictional 10% “Mercari fee” on top of a price that is already the buyer’s price.
What you might still pay inside Japan:
- the item, tax included when the seller is a business
- domestic shipping, if the listing is not 送料込み
Type that shipping into the calculator. If you cannot see it, ¥0 is the honest placeholder, not a guess of ¥500.
What the proxy adds
ZenMarket’s fee page charges ¥800 for every Mercari item. The same ¥800 covers a JDirectItems Auction bid. A shop order is ¥500, or ¥300 at a store they mark as recommended.
Buyee’s fee page lists ¥500 per order plus a plan. The pages checked on 13 October 2026 do not show a separate Mercari surcharge. If your Buyee checkout shows one, type the total you see into the item or use the shipping override rather than trusting the table.
ZenMarket also takes a deposit fee. Card and PayPal are 3.5% of the whole charge, not 3.5% added to the amount you hoped to deposit. The calculator grosses that up. Wise is described as under 1%; the 1% button is an estimate.
Titles on Mercari
A Mercari title is where Ultra becomes Secret. Paste it into the checker before you pay the proxy. For YAC1, require the JP number. A sold alert that does not name the rarity is not a comp — the pricing sheet refused at least one Blue-Eyes alert for that reason.
Cancelled Mercari orders are a poor plan. ZenMarket’s fee page says a Mercari purchase cannot be cancelled after you pay them. Read the photo first.
Then run the price through the calculator with marketplace set to Mercari and the proxy you will actually use. The two totals are not the same, because ¥800 plus 3.5% is a different shape from ¥500 and a plan.

Does Mercari charge the buyer a service fee?
Mercari’s selling fee comes out of the seller’s side. As a buyer through a proxy you pay the listing price, any domestic shipping that is not already included, and the proxy’s fee.
How much does ZenMarket charge for Mercari?
¥800 per Mercari item, on the fee page checked 13 October 2026. Buyee’s checked pages do not add a Mercari surcharge on top of the ¥500 purchase fee.
